Once again on the Ledo Road (Stilwell Road)

Road to Naga Hills, on the Ledo road
Once again i was traveling to Naga Hills in northwestern Burma passing through the Hukaung Valley leading to Nanyun town which is a township center in nothern Naga Hills region. This road as you can see in the photo is the historic road built by an American General J.W.Stilwell in 1943 and used by the western allies forces during Second World War. This road known with three names; Ledo Road in Burma, Burma Road in China, and Stilwell Road internationally) has been the most important rout in supporting the then Chinese President Shian Kai Sheik and his armies fighting against the invading Japanese Armies and the Communist Armies under leadership of the great Mao Zedong (Mao Tse-Tung) of China. The road is 1079 miles (1736 km) long connecting Ledo of India, Shingbwiyan of Burma passing through Myitkyina, and Kunming of China. This road has also been the most crucial part for the development of the local Naga people and the Kachin people as well.
